Centre for Human Rights Health Ethnic Harmony and Livelihood Development (CHHELD) also known as Harmony Centre, Partners with the British Council through its EU-ACT funded program tagged Agents for citizen driven Transformation

The British Council from 2021-2022 under the European Union funded Agents for Citizens-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) program trained Harmony Centre and other CSO partners in Rivers state on some key thematic areas such as:

  • Monitoring and Evaluation Methodology, between 13th-15th July 2021.
  • Organizational Financial Management, 7th -9th April 2021
  • Understanding Advocacy Action Planning and Adopting a Human Rights-Based Approach, 20th -22nd April 2021.
  • Project Cycle Management, 5th -7th May 2021.
  • Fundraising and Resource Mobilization, 24th -26th May 2021.
  • Gender and Social Inclusion, 2nd -4th June 2021.
  • Communications and Media Strategy, 29th June – 2nd July 2021.
  • Human Resource, 8th -10th Dec. 2021
  • Social Research and Analysis, 12th -15th Oct. 2021. 
  • Collective Bargaining and Alternative Dispute Resolution 16th -18th June 2021.
  • And more…..

The capacity building program organized by the European Union under the Agents for Citizens-Driven Transformation (EU-ACT) program was solely for EU partner civil society organizations in Rivers State who had earlier undergone an Organizational Capacity Assessment (OCA) CHHELD participated in the OCA to help us better understand our technical  capacity and increase the capacity of CHHELDs Governance, Accountability, Internal control, Accounting, Project management,  Fundraising,  Advocacy Gender &  Social  Inclusion  systems.

The Agent for Citizen-Driven Transformation program is a four year program that is being implemented by the British Council, Nigeria. The program is linked to the objectives of the three European Union (EU) focal sectors of the 11th National Indicative program (NIP) as a requirement under the larger Global EU/Civil Society Organization (CSO) framework.
