Organizational capacity Strengthening for Emerging CSOs in Rivers State

Organizational Capacity Strengthening for Emerging CSOs in Rivers State was organized by Agents for Citizen Driven Transformation (ACT) in partnership with the European Union/British Council. This hybrid meeting held on 18th November 2024, focusing on three crucial areas: Organizational Strategy Development, Communication, and Advocacy.

The key points discussed include: identifying organizational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis), setting short term and long term goals that aligns with the mission and vision of the organization, developing a result-based management framework to monitor progress effectively, importance of transparency, leveraging digital platforms (social media, email marketing etc) to amplify organizational initiatives, and communication strategies for managing reputational risks.

The ACT team discussed opportunities for ongoing coaching and mentoring, emphasizing the benefits of peer learning. Participants had opportunity to ask questions on how they could leverage the initiative to improve organizational effectiveness. At the end, participants gained actionable insights into designing and implementing effective strategies for CSOs. Also, CSOs were categorized based on their developmental stages (emerging, developing, or mature) to tailor support services
